Hawaiian Baby Woodrose
Seeds of the Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (Argyreia Nervosa). This large climbing vine is native to the Indian subcontinent but has since been introduced to numerous areas all over the world, including Hawaii. The Woodrose can be identified by its large leaves in the shape of hearts and clusters of 5-7 cm large mauve flowers.
Growing: Make a small nick in the seedcoat (away from the germ eye) and soak the seeds until it swells. Plant 1/2-inch deep in loose rich soil. In Europe, the plant must be kept indoors in the wintertime. During summer it can be grown in a large pot outdoors. It may take anywhere between 1,5 to 5 years before the Hawaiian Woodrose starts flowering, depending on available space and sufficient watering.
